[nep-uh-tiz-uhm] - noun

Nepotism:
favoritism shown on the basis of family relationship.

Yes, I do have to claim this photo shoot as one of my all time favorites.
How can I not!?
It's my little sister, Christa,
with the love of her life, Robert.

Aside from the nepotism factor,
it was a favorite for another reason.

I was a part of making one of her wishes come true...
a wish that included
 her and her man,
 her wedding dress,
an ocean as a backdrop.

It didn't happen on her wedding day,
so we made it happen a year later.

And that fact alone makes it one of my favorite shoots...
a wish fulfilled!

Christa and Robert are a dream couple...

who made my job so very easy.

So, Little Sister,
what an adventure it was getting up before the crack of dawn
and spending such a special time with you and Robert.
Recapturing those memories.

And as you walk into your future,
I look forward to capturing more of your wishes and dreams.

To make you happy,
and that makes me happy.

Nepotism at its best!

Wild Horses

If I were a writer

I would make you my wild horse

I'd feed you silver sage and

Ride you savagely through green wild countries

Good Advice

Life can be hectic.
Overly busy.
Sometimes curve balls
 are thrown our way
that bring unexpected and unwanted stresses.

During these times of busyness and stress,
don't forget to find joy in the little things.
Each day.
Make it a goal.

They surround you.

Don't let them go unnoticed.

Play a scavanger game with yourself.
Every day.
Be on the lookout for that one simple thing
that brings a smile to your face
and joy to your soul.

And keep the words of Leo Buscaglia in mind:
"...get wildly enthusiastic about little things,

(and he takes it a bit further)
...play with leaves,
...skip down the street.
...run against the wind."

Good advice indeed!

The Bearer of Good News

In my photo collections,
I'm partial to feet shots.

Maybe it's because I enjoy journeys,
and feet are what get you going along those journeys...
wherever that may lead in life.

It might be because I LOVE boots.

Especially when they belong to a dad
and are filled with his little girl's feet.

It could be because I'm a lover of sports,
and quick feet are certainly an advantage to an athlete.

But most likely it's because I love to hear good news.

And the Bible does tell us...

How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of him who brings good news.
(Isaiah 52:7)

So, if you are a part of a future photo shoot of mine,
and I zoom in on your feet,
now you know why!

No News?!

Whatcha say?  "No news lately?"

You're right,
But in the last two months I've been busy with:

Family Shoots
Engagement shoots
1st B-day parties
Military Ball / Change of Command Shoots
Newborn Sessions
Senior Sessions

Traveling 1/2 way across the continent to witness my husband receive a prestigious award.
(So proud of you, Charlie!)
Finishing a homeschool year

Good thing I can survive on little sleep!
(not!)

Well, stay alert!  Just be on the lookout...

50s X 2

These twins have amazing smiles that make them glow!  I had such a great time photographing them at Jack's Diner in Saint Robert while listening to Elvis on the jukebox.  We finished the shoot with root-beer floats and ice-cream!
